Sumit Rai is currently the MD & CEO of Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. Setting the strategic direction for the company, Sumit has nurtured a strong leadership team to build a multi-channel distribution network and a robust portfolio of offerings for its customers. A charismatic leader with an experience spanning over two and a half decades, he has mentored several cross-functional teams to enhance the organizational value and growth during his tenure so far. Under Sumit’s leadership, Edelweiss Tokio Life has earned several industry recognitions, bolstered by the key mantras of customer centricity and innovation. Driven by his consistent belief in delivering value for every aspect of the business, the company has achieved rapid business growth, introduced exciting products and service innovations, and truly delivered on its promise of making #ZindagiUnlimited for its customers and employees. Before taking charge as the MD & CEO, Sumit served as the company’s Chief Distribution Officer for a brief period. Previously, as a founder team member at Max Life, Sumit played a key role with the team that created one of India’s largest life insurance companies and handled multiple roles in distribution and strategy, including running and strengthening India’s largest non-captive, commercial bancassurance partnership. He was also associated with Bank of America, and ABN Amro Bank in the past, wherein he was instrumental in strategizing and implementing various strategic initiatives for the respective companies.

Vikas Bansal

Chief Human Resource Officer

Vikas Bansal is currently the Chief Human Resource Officer of Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. He aspires to help the Edelweiss Tokio Life family discover its Edge and create a personalized roadmap for employees to cultivate that Edge during their tenure at the company. Under his guidance, his team oversees a broad range of functions including talent development, recruiting, employee relations and experience. With a singular objective of building an inclusive and progressive workplace, Vikas has an undaunting focus on creating a vibrant, equitable, and socially conscious workforce. During his tenure at Edelweiss Tokio Life, Vikas has led the transformation of HR into a strategic partner to the business and been instrumental in building a strong talent pool through various leadership development initiatives. A veteran with an experience spanning nearly 20 years, Vikas has helped shaped the HR strategy for companies like Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Dr. Reddy’s Labs, and Hero Honda.

Abhishek Gupta

Chief Marketing Officer

Abhishek Gupta is currently the Chief Marketing Officer of Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. As the chief brand champion, Abhishek manages the reputation of the company by promoting its diverse and innovative range of product offerings and services. Leveraging the power of storytelling and creativity, Abhishek aspires to deliver inclusive and strategic communications that can make the brand stand out as a new-age life insurer. Helming a team of ambitious and creative minds, Abhishek has been harnessing company’s product innovations and superior customer experience to set advertising benchmarks in the industry. He also leads the Customer Experience strategies for the company and strives to build a differentiated brand experience that can foster customer trust and advocacy. Abhishek has been with Edelweiss Group for 7 years. With an experience spanning 22 years, he has worked with brands across several sectors over the years – The Mobile Store (Essar Group), Bharti Retail, Spencer Retail, ICICI Bank and Shopper’s Stop. An engineer with a post-graduation degree in marketing, Abhishek has been recognized as one of the ‘25 Most Outstanding Marketing Professional of India at World Brand Congress 2014’, ‘Most Influential Marketing Leaders 2017’, and ‘Global Marketing Leaders 2019’ at World Marketing Congress. He regularly speaks at industry forums and serves as Guest Faculty at reputed management institutes in India.

Kayzad Hiramanek

Kayzad Hiramanek is currently the Chief Operating Officer of Edelweiss Tokio Life Insurance. He is a seasoned professional who brings 2.5 decades of experience in managing operations, technology, and customer experience strategy for businesses across sectors. At Edelweiss Tokio Life, he leads and executes the company’s Operations, Technology and Business Excellence efforts to elevate scalability, agility, and cost efficiencies within the business. Under his functional stewardship, the company aspires to build operational resilience and sustainability to weather through business cycles and any unprecedented events. In his previous experience, Kayzad has played an instrumental role in defining the Operations and Customer Experience strategy for organizations like Bajaj Allianz Life Insurance, ICICI Prudential Life Insurance, and Avantha Ergo Life Insurance. He has also been associated with Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular, Taj Hotels and more in the past.
